Globe3 ERP vs RIB CostX

Two Malaysia software options, compared side by side for Malaysia trades.

Which should you choose?

Globe3 ERP and RIB CostX are both Tier A. Compare the typical pricing shown for each below. The tier is not a quality ranking: weigh the pros, cons, pricing and Malaysia-specific notes below against your trade and region.

Globe3 ERP

Tier A ยท Listed

ERP with construction project accounting, progress claims and an LHDN e-invoice module

Globe3 ERP comes from TNO Systems Pte Ltd of Singapore, which says the business started in 2002, and is sold in Malaysia by Globe3 Systems Sdn Bhd from Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur. It targets construction, trading, manufacturing, field service, equipment rental and other industries. Globe3's Singapore site says it serves 1,200+ businesses.

Pros

  • + Construction project costing, WIP accounting and progress claims
  • + Subcontractor approval, backcharges and a sub-con e-submission portal
  • + E-Invoice Malaysia module for LHDN submissions
  • + Malaysian office in Kuala Lumpur

Cons

  • โˆ’ No public prices
  • โˆ’ Full ERP scope is more than many small contractors need
  • โˆ’ E-invoice page does not detail consolidated or self-billed support
  • โˆ’ Developed by a Singapore company, sold locally by its Malaysian arm

Malaysia note

Globe3 says its E-Invoice Malaysia module automates LHDN-compliant submissions and that it offers integration services for e-invoicing. Its construction module covers project costing, construction WIP accounting, progress and certified claims and subcontractor backcharges, with local sales from Globe3 Systems Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur.

Typical Malaysia pricing: Quote-based; no public prices on Globe3's Malaysian site.

RIB CostX

Tier A ยท Listed

2D and BIM takeoff with estimating spreadsheets live-linked to drawings

RIB CostX, first sold as Exactal CostX, is a takeoff, estimating and reporting product from RIB Software, which says it is part of Schneider Electric. It measures from 2D drawings, PDFs and 3D BIM models into live-linked estimating workbooks, and comes in Complete, Core and Quantify packages. RIB lists APAC offices in Australia, China, India and New Zealand but none in Malaysia.

Pros

  • + Takeoff from 2D drawings, PDFs and 3D BIM models
  • + Estimating spreadsheets live-linked to drawings
  • + Automatic revision handling
  • + Standalone, network or cloud (CostX Cloud) licensing

Cons

  • โˆ’ No public prices: custom quote only
  • โˆ’ No Malaysian office listed by RIB
  • โˆ’ Estimating only: no accounting or e-invoicing
  • โˆ’ Aimed at quantity surveyors and estimators, not small trade firms

Malaysia note

RIB lists no Malaysian office, so Malaysian buyers get prices through RIB's global quote form. CostX is a takeoff and estimating layer only; it does no LHDN MyInvois or SST work, so pair it with local accounting software.

Typical Malaysia pricing: Quote-based; no public prices. RIB gives custom prices for its Complete, Core and Quantify packages through a form on its site.
