Press & Media
Press Room
Resources for journalists, industry analysts and trade-publication editors — including ready-to-cite story leads with verified, reproducible numbers. WrenchStack is independent: no vendor pays for placement or scores, which is exactly why we can publish things vendor-funded listicles can't.
Story leads for journalists
Four findings from our live dataset, each a standalone angle. Every number is computed from the public directory and reproducible from our methodology. Want a custom cut (by trade, by region)? Ask the press desk.
The Gulf e-invoicing deadline — and the Arabic gap
Saudi Arabia's ZATCA Phase-2 Wave 24 reaches the SAR 375,000-revenue band on 30 June 2026, sweeping in a large share of small contractors who've never needed compliant billing software — and almost no one is comparing their options in Arabic. WrenchStack maintains what we believe is the only independent English-and-Arabic construction-software directory, spanning the Gulf plus the live mandates in Egypt (ETA), Jordan (JoFotara), Malaysia (MyInvois) and Oman (Fawtara, to all VAT-registered firms by 2027).
Evergreen angle (the EN+AR first-mover position) outlives the 30 June peg. → ZATCA guide · all 17 markets
The "who to avoid" ledger
We flag 29 vendors across the contractor stack for documented harm — and publish the specific reason on each. The pattern is concentrated in the money categories: 6 of 10 consumer-financing providers (deferred-interest fine print), 8 of 24 lead-generation platforms (including FTC enforcement actions), and 5 of 10 fintech-banking options (account-freeze patterns). A directory that takes vendor money structurally can't publish this.
The opacity tax
38% of trades-software platforms publish no price at all — you have to sit through a sales call to get a number. The median published entry price is $75/user/month, so the opacity hides a wide spread. Contractor insurance is worse: every carrier we track is quote-only — not one publishes a flat rate.
The QuickBooks tax
93% of trades software integrates QuickBooks — the closest thing the category has to a universal standard, and a real adoption tax on any vendor who skips it. It's a useful lens on how much the back office, not the field, still dictates software choice for contractors.
