Bentley Systems vs Onyx Pro ERP
Two Oman software options, compared side by side for Oman trades.
Which should you choose?
Bentley Systems is Tier S: our check found its prices published on its own website. Onyx Pro ERP is Tier A. Compare the typical pricing shown for each below. The tier is not a quality ranking: weigh the pros, cons, pricing and Oman-specific notes below against your trade and region.
Bentley Systems
Tier S · Published pricesInfrastructure engineering software (STAAD.Pro, OpenRoads, ProjectWise)
Bentley Systems makes engineering software for infrastructure, including STAAD.Pro for structural design, OpenRoads Designer for roads, MicroStation for CAD and ProjectWise for project delivery. It publishes USD prices for 12-month Virtuoso subscriptions on its website, with enterprise licensing by quote. Bentley lists no Oman office; its nearest offices are in Dubai and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Pros
- + Published prices for single licences (USD, 12-month subscriptions)
- + Structural, road and CAD design tools from one vendor
- + ProjectWise for shared project documents and delivery
- + Oman's OQ won a Bentley Going Digital Award in 2022 (Times of Oman)
Cons
- − Engineering design software, not site admin or accounting
- − No Oman office or confirmed Oman partner
- − Annual per-user subscriptions paid upfront
- − Specialist tools with a learning curve for each discipline
Oman note
Most relevant to structural, road and utility design work rather than general contracting or bookkeeping. Times of Oman reported in December 2022 that OQ won one of Bentley's Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure. Bentley lists no Oman office, so ask who supports it locally before you buy.
Onyx Pro ERP
Tier A · ListedArabic ERP suite with a Muscat office at Knowledge Oasis
Onyx Pro ERP is produced by Yemensoft (established 1993) and its affiliate Ultimate Solutions, and covers accounting, inventory, sales, purchasing, HR and payroll, fixed assets and a projects and progress-claims solution. Its Oman company, Ultimate Solutions for Technology LLC, has an office at Knowledge Oasis Muscat, and it lists a dealer in Salalah. Onyx says the system runs in Arabic, English, Turkish, French and German.
Pros
- + Oman office at Knowledge Oasis Muscat, plus a Salalah dealer
- + Projects and progress-claims solution alongside accounting and inventory
- + Arabic-first, with English and other system languages (per Onyx)
- + Wide module range, including HR and payroll
Cons
- − No public prices
- − No Oman VAT or Fawtara e-invoicing claims on its site
- − Website mostly in Arabic
- − General ERP: check contracting features in a demo
Oman note
Onyx has an Oman company with an office at Knowledge Oasis Muscat (phone 24170079) and a dealer in Salalah, so local support is available to ask about. Its site does not describe Oman VAT returns or Fawtara e-invoicing, so ask for a demo of both before buying.
