Bentley Systems vs Zoho (Books)

Two Oman software options, compared side by side for Oman trades.

Which should you choose?

Bentley Systems and Zoho (Books) are both Tier S: our check found each one's prices published on its own website, so you can compare their costs before talking to sales. The tier is not a quality ranking: weigh the pros, cons, pricing and Oman-specific notes below against your trade and region.

Bentley Systems

Tier S ยท Published prices

Infrastructure engineering software (STAAD.Pro, OpenRoads, ProjectWise)

Bentley Systems makes engineering software for infrastructure, including STAAD.Pro for structural design, OpenRoads Designer for roads, MicroStation for CAD and ProjectWise for project delivery. It publishes USD prices for 12-month Virtuoso subscriptions on its website, with enterprise licensing by quote. Bentley lists no Oman office; its nearest offices are in Dubai and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Pros

  • + Published prices for single licences (USD, 12-month subscriptions)
  • + Structural, road and CAD design tools from one vendor
  • + ProjectWise for shared project documents and delivery
  • + Oman's OQ won a Bentley Going Digital Award in 2022 (Times of Oman)

Cons

  • โˆ’ Engineering design software, not site admin or accounting
  • โˆ’ No Oman office or confirmed Oman partner
  • โˆ’ Annual per-user subscriptions paid upfront
  • โˆ’ Specialist tools with a learning curve for each discipline

Oman note

Most relevant to structural, road and utility design work rather than general contracting or bookkeeping. Times of Oman reported in December 2022 that OQ won one of Bentley's Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure. Bentley lists no Oman office, so ask who supports it locally before you buy.

Typical Oman pricing: Published on bentley.com in USD, per 12-month Virtuoso subscription for one licence: STAAD.Pro from $3,995, STAAD.Pro Advanced from $5,490, Structural WorkSuite from $6,097, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect from $312 and ProjectWise from $960. ProjectWise Bundle from $10,440. Enterprise licensing by quote.

Zoho (Books)

Tier S ยท Published prices

Cloud accounting with an Oman VAT edition and published USD prices

Zoho Books is cloud accounting from Zoho with an Oman edition that creates VAT invoices, applies VAT rates to sales and purchases and produces VAT reports for filing, in English or Arabic. Zoho publishes its Oman prices in US dollars, from a free plan for businesses under 50K USD revenue a year up to an Ultimate plan. It handles invoicing, bookkeeping and project time billing, not construction management.

Pros

  • + Oman edition with VAT invoices and VAT reports for filing
  • + Published prices and a free plan
  • + English and Arabic interface
  • + Projects with time and expense billing

Cons

  • โˆ’ Accounting, not construction management
  • โˆ’ No construction BOQ or job-costing module listed
  • โˆ’ Oman site makes no Fawtara e-invoicing claim yet
  • โˆ’ Extra users cost $2.5-$3 a month each

Oman note

Zoho's Oman edition handles VAT invoices and VAT reports, and its prices are shown in US dollars, not Omani rials. Oman Observer and Gulf News reported in August 2026 that e-invoicing (Fawtara) becomes mandatory in phases from April 2027; check your own start date with the Oman Tax Authority. Zoho's Oman site does not yet describe Fawtara support, so ask Zoho how it will connect before your phase starts.

Typical Oman pricing: Published in USD on Zoho's Oman site, per organisation per month, billed annually: Free $0 (revenue under 50K USD a year), Standard $15 (3 users), Professional $25 (5 users), Premium $35 (10 users), Elite $85 (10 users), Ultimate $200 (15 users). Billed monthly: $18, $30, $42, $99 and $249. Extra users $2.5 a month billed annually ($3 monthly). Prices exclude local taxes.
