pmtbox is the new name of National Processing, the Orem, Utah card processor. Its help center says the name changed on November 1, 2025, that the company was not acquired, and that Wayne Hamilton, who founded National Processing, is CEO and leads the same team; existing merchants keep the same rates, account terms, phone number and support team. pmtbox's site gives the company's name as Payment Box, Inc., a registered ISO/MSP of Commercial Bank of California and Chesapeake Bank. The old nationalprocessing.com domain no longer resolves.
The business has also repositioned. In April 2026 Payment Box, Inc. announced a $15 million seed round led by Tandem Ventures, described pmtbox as a platform that brings payments, risk and transaction data together, and said it serves roughly 1,300 customers. pmtbox.com says it handles payments, fraud and chargebacks for e-commerce brands under one fee, guarantees every transaction it approves, screens for fraud with machine learning, and offers one API across online, mobile and in-store payments.
For trade businesses, the help center still covers in-person and mobile payments, with guides for Dejavoo, Verifone and PAX terminals and the SwipeSimple mobile app, and its integrations list includes QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero and FreshBooks. BBB's profile for National Processing, LLC lists a business start date of October 1, 2007 and says its information is being updated, with no report available.
The trade-off: pmtbox publishes no rate card, plans or contract terms, so you cannot compare costs without a sales quote. Our earlier review raised concerns about fees and equipment-lease terms under the National Processing name that we could not re-verify, so get the full fee schedule, contract term, any early-termination fee and any PCI non-compliance fee in writing before signing.

We removed the warning rather than repeat claims we cannot source today.
