About Hover
Hover turns smartphone photos of a home into a measured 3D model that contractors use to order materials, design the job with the homeowner and build an estimate. It started with exteriors (roofing, siding, windows and gutters) and added interior measurements and floor plans in 2022, so it now describes itself as serving both exterior and interior trades.
In January 2026 Hover relaunched its product as one connected platform covering measurements, 2D and 3D design, automated estimating from the 3D model, homeowner proposals with e-signature, and what it says are more than 1,000 integrations with CRM, production and business systems. Its Instant Design tool, launched in 2025, creates photo-realistic design options from a single photo using products from manufacturers such as James Hardie, GAF and Pella.
Hover was founded in 2011 and is based in San Francisco. It said in 2020 that it had raised $147 million, including a $60 million round led by insurers Travelers, State Farm Ventures and Nationwide, and earlier investors include GV and The Home Depot. Hover says more than 300,000 contractors and home improvement professionals have used it. ABC Supply contractors can also upload blueprints for new-construction measurements and bill Hover jobs to their ABC Supply account.

How it works
A rep or the homeowner takes a guided set of photos of the house with the Hover app. Hover processes the photos into a measured 3D model, and for new construction ABC Supply contractors can upload blueprints instead. From the model you get measurements for ordering materials, can show the homeowner design options in 2D or 3D (including real products from manufacturers such as James Hardie, GAF and Pella), and, on the January 2026 platform, generate an estimate and a homeowner proposal with e-signature. Hover also measures interiors and produces floor plans. Data can flow into CRM and production systems through Hover's integrations.
