About FieldEdge Flat Rate (formerly Coolfront)
FieldEdge Flat Rate, formerly Coolfront, is a flat-rate price book and mobile work-order tool for service technicians. Coolfront launched in 1999 as a printed flat-rate pricing guide and was acquired in February 2019 by Clearent Software Holdings, the parent of FieldEdge. It is now sold as FieldEdge Flat Rate, and FieldEdge operates in Xplor's Field Services division.
The core is a managed repair database that FieldEdge maintains and updates, so the office is not re-keying price changes. FieldEdge's pages put it at 25,000 to over 30,000 repairs across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work, with its Coolfront page adding appliance repairs. A technician picks the repair, the price is calculated, and the customer sees the options up front; you can still set your own prices and create custom repairs. FieldEdge says everything Coolfront offered, including its mobile app, is now part of FieldEdge Flat Rate, which works within FieldEdge and syncs with QuickBooks.
