About Workiz
Workiz is field service software for on-demand service businesses, founded in 2015 in San Diego by Idan Kadosh, Erez Marom and Saar Kohanovitch; Kadosh and Marom had worked as locksmiths, and the product grew out of that same-day work. It serves locksmiths, garage door, junk removal and appliance repair businesses as well as HVAC, plumbing and electrical, and it raised a $5 million Series A in 2019 and a $13 million Series B in 2021.
The product treats the inbound phone call as the center of the workflow. Genius Phone transcribes and summarizes calls and pulls job details from them, and Genius Answering (an AI assistant called Jessica) answers missed calls and turns them into scheduled jobs. Lead integrations bring in work from Google Local Services Ads and Reserve with Google, Angi, Thumbtack and Yelp, and payments run through Stripe, with Sunbit for customer financing.
Workiz no longer publishes prices: its Standard, Pro and Ultimate plans are quoted on request, annual billing is cheaper than monthly, and plans differ by automation count, Genius AI features, service plans, inventory and API access. There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card. Shops whose work is mostly scheduled maintenance and recurring service agreements should compare platforms built around the calendar.

Implementation
Workiz is set up for self-service onboarding. The main work is on the call side: port or connect your phone numbers, set up call handling and Genius Answering, connect your lead sources (Google Local Services, Angi, Thumbtack, Yelp), then train dispatchers on the inbound call workflow. Field tech training is lighter, since the mobile app is mainly for accepting jobs, updating status and taking payment. If you are moving from a calendar-first platform, expect to rethink how jobs enter the system, because Workiz starts from the call.
