About PSA
PSA is restoration software from Canam Systems, a company founded in 1994 that describes itself as independently owned. Its listed office is in Barrie, Ontario, Tolga Tari is President and CEO, and Canam says it serves more than 1,500 restoration contractors, including a number of franchise groups, across North America.
PSA is sold as a set of modules under the Proven name: Proven Jobs (job management), Proven Accounting, Proven CRM, Proven OnSite (customer communication) and Proven Analytics. Proven Jobs covers job intake and dispatch (Canam says in 30 seconds or less), budgets for labor, materials, subcontractors and miscellaneous costs, real-time job cost recognition, work-in-progress automation, electronic timecards, e-signatures, equipment and materials tracking, Gantt-chart production views and calendar reminders. Its mobile app works offline and includes a dry logs module for site readings. Proven Accounting adds a general ledger and banking, payables and receivables, purchase orders, automatic work-in-process and over/under-billing calculations, inventory costing and integrated payroll.
Canam lists integrations with Xactimate and XactAnalysis, CoreLogic Symbility, Encircle, Matterport, DocuSketch, Moisture Mapper and QuickBooks, plus partners for payroll (ADP, Paychex, CheckMark, EasyPay), payments (Gravity Payments), communications (Twilio, Mailchimp, Mailgun), moisture meters (Tramex), floor plans (magicplan), asset tracking (Nero, Invisi-Tag, Camcode) and answering services.
Canam does not publish PSA software pricing; buyers request a demo. The only price on its site is a $50 a month unlimited integration package, offered in a customer notice about PSA monthly fee changes effective March 1, 2023, which also moved customers billed hourly for training and support to packages with unlimited training and support, except onsite training; the notice does not say whether those terms still apply. Training options include customized onboarding, on-site training in your office, online training and the Proven Academy online courses. Support is by phone Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM Eastern.
The trade-off: PSA can replace several tools, including your accounting system if you use Proven Accounting, so switching is a bigger project than adding a job tracker. Get a written quote that lists modules, users, any setup charges and which integration and training packages apply, since current prices for them are not published.
