About Inspect Point
Inspect Point is software for fire and life-safety inspection, testing and maintenance contractors in the US and Canada. It was founded in 2014 in Troy, New York, by Padraic Doyle, Drew Slocum, Jennifer Doyle and Phil Sirigiano, and is still based there, with Doyle as CEO. The company was bootstrapped until January 2022, when Mainsail Partners made a $28 million growth equity investment. In April 2025 it acquired FireCAD, a design tool for fire alarm and security layout drawings, which runs as its own brand under Inspect Point. Inspect Point says more than 15,000 fire protection professionals use the platform.
Technicians inspect on an iPad or iPhone using built-in question sets that follow NFPA editions in the US (including NFPA 25, 72 and 10) and ULC standards in Canada. The vendor covers sprinkler, fire alarm, extinguisher, chemical suppression, special hazards, backflow, and fire door and damper work. Inspections that have synced to the device can be completed without a connection and sent to the office later. Deficiencies found on site flow into proposals, work orders and invoices without retyping, and a customer portal shows clients their upcoming visits, reports, proposals and invoices.
In the office, Inspect Point handles scheduling and dispatch for recurring inspections and service calls, invoices sent by email or text with automated reminders, and card payments through Inspect Point Payments. Inspect Point AI includes an assistant for bulk actions and data questions. Native integrations include QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Sage 100 Contractor, Simpro, BuildOps and Salesforce, and reports can be submitted to AHJ platforms such as The Compliance Engine, IROL and LivSafe. The Platinum plan is listed as API and integration ready.
